Thanks a lot for the reviews!! I'm an illustrator/animator and an avid collector of "Art of..." books of all kinds. I have been looking for a website that gives decent reviews about the books, but mostly I've been looking for a site that provides pictures from inside the books so I can get a better idea of the content before I buy them for soooo long now!! I will be referencing this site every time I make a new purchase of one of these books and I will gladly use your links to Amazon to purchase the books so you will get credit for the referral. Again, thank you sooo much for doing this!!!

Came across your site and I'm very impressed with what you've done.
Keep up the good work. I always hoped that someone would do a site/blog on art books and do reviews. I'd thought of doing this a few years back but got side line with work. I'm happy to see someone did and I especially like the different selection of art books.
I've been a collector for several years and have many of the books on your site and I'm always looking for more, especially concept art for movies, games, and industrial designs.

Thanks so much. I love these

Hi Parka. I just want to say THANK YOU for putting this site together. You have NO idea how helpful this has been. I've been searching for weeks trying to find some kind of reliable opinion on books I've been looking for, and looking for some new books to flip through. I've ordered many of the books already (some are already on the way) and your taste in books is immaculate.

Anyway, I was hoping you might be able to have a look at some books with art by Hyung Tae Kim (HTK, as he is known.) More specifically,

Oxide
Oxide 2x
OXIDE2: Carta Numinous,

I've heard mixed reviews about iO: Art of the Wired, and Apple (an annual periodical)

I know I'm already pushing it here, but I've been desperately looking for art from Shadow of the Colossus or ICO, Prince of Persia, X-Men and games like Halo, God of War, and hopefullllyyyyy Dante's Inferno when it comes out (ajnfjkansfjnasjknfaomg omg omg).

Anyway, that's everything. You don't need to go buy the books and review them or anything, I'm just looking for an opinion about them I can trust. Thanks again. :)

M - Thanks for the support. I

Thanks for the support.

I do have a few books you mentioned: Oxide 2x, Apple Vol 2, The Art of Halo 3, X-Men Last Stand, Art of X2.

Apple annuals are manga anthology. Good for their art but not so for stories.

The rest I don't really know if there are actually art books for them.

Bahahaha I was just about to

Bahahaha I was just about to post saying I found them.

I really did look before. I must have totally blacked out or something.

(I noticed the X-Men ones but they seem like they're just movie screen shots. It seems there aren't any X-men art books like what I'm looking for--illustrations like the ones in the Exodyssey and Spectrum books. Oh well :/ )

Thanks for the reply.

steven - If you looking for traditional weapons, try The Crafting of Narnia or The Lord of the Rings Weapons and Warefare. The more sci-fi ones you can try The Art of Halo 3. I don't know of too many books that focus on weapons.
