Book Preview: Jason Pruett's Face Book

Jason Pruett's Face Book

Jason Pruett's new book is just out. For those who like caricature portraits, this book has 100 pages drawn in black and white. It's a humorous look at the personalities, real or fantasy, sketched or inked, in various different styles.

From the introduction:

I've always loved drawing faces. It's kind of my default sketch mode. I draw people everywhere I go, and when I'm not drawing them, I'm analyzing their features for future drawings.

This book is more than a collection of faces, it's a collection of personalities. You can see the type of person they are in their face, their expressions, and the way they sign their name. - Jason Pruett

i can hear the lawers rubbing their hands: facebook will sue him...

I don't think he will. I doubt the work will sell enough to actually make facebook owners worried. Also, he could have found a loop to avoid infringement as its 'Jason Pruett's Face Book'. Facebook.com is like one word, but this is saying that this is the artist's book of faces.

There's not going to be anything for the lawyers to chew on.

To go for trademark infringement, the same name has to be used in the same business context, e.g. in facebook's case, technology/web business.

That Frankenstein face is mad gnarly! In regards to Face Book, great name choice!
