This is the third artbook for Blade Runner 2049. The first book The Art and Soul of Blade Runner 2049 published in 2017 is the film production book. Blade Runner 2049 - Interlinked - The Art.

This book looks at the making of the film through storyboards by artists Sam Hudecki and Darryl Henley.

The book's a huge 224-page hardcover published by Titan Books. It's packed with storyboards from the beginning to the end. Commentary provided by the two artists talk about the story, film making considerations and their working relationships with director Denis Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins. Many of the storyboards were actually drawn during meetings with the director.

The storyboards are not concept art or illustrations so don't expect really polished art. For the beautiful artworks, go with the earlier two books. The storyboards are used as a tool to help with composition and visualising the movie. They serve their function well. This is not an instructional book. There is artist commentary but it's not a lot. About half the book has commentary and it's usually just a few sentences.

This book is mostly for fans who want to know everything about the film, and are interested in film production, and of course storyboards.
