Review: Superman: The Art and Making of the Film
This is a wonderful companion book for Superman (2025). It's a large format 176-page hardcover published by Abrams.
This book is more of a movie production book than an artbook. There are artworks but they take up maybe just half of the book, and the artworks looks like the speed paint or composite type of art to me. There are no character sketches, just finalised concepts, which I guess is not surprising since these comic characters are already so well established.
The other images in the book are film stills and photographs. There's plenty of writeup on the production of this movie and that's the highlight of this book. There is a lot to read.
This is the book for those who love movie production and behind the scenes stories, and of course for fans of this film and Superman.
