Review: SoundPEATS Air5 Pro wireless ANC earphones

The SoundPEATS Air5 Pro is a budget wireless ANC earphones released in mid 2025. At the time of review, the price is just SGD 86.90 on Lazada SG. This is cheaper than the SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ that I had reviewed few months ago, currently SGD 116 on Lazada SG.

Bottom line

The SoundPEATS Air5 Pro looks good and sounds good with clarity and decent amount of bass.

ANC works well and there's even Bluetooth multi-point pairing to 2 devices. Downsides are there's no proximity sensor (in-ear detection) to pause media when earphones are removed from your ear. Overall, these earphones deliver tremendous value for money simply because of its low price point and good sound.

Design

Design of the earphones look good even if it doesn't stand out. I found the medium size ear tips to be quite small even for my small ears. Thankfully, there's a set of larger ear tips included. Overall comfort of the earphones is good. Sound isolation without ANC is quite good and better than expected.

The only downside with the design is there's no proximity sensor. When you take the earphones out from your ear, media will still continue to play.

The earphones support touch for basic controls such as changing volume (single press), taking calls (2x press), etc. You can learn all the shortcuts available from the user manual.

The charging case compact, and almost the same size as the SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+. I actually prefer the smaller cover which is easier to open. The case provides 37 hours of battery life.

Battery life is rated to be 7.5hr. To get more battery life, you can disable LDAC and Double Device Connection Feature (multi-point pairing).

The PeatsAudio app lets you control ANC, transparency mode, multi-point pairing and EQ.

Bluetooth multi-point pairing is enabled by default, and that disables LDAC. Multi-point pairing and LDAC cannot work at the same time.

Audio quality

There's good treble and decent amount of bass. For earphones that cost less than SGD 100, these sound really good. Perhaps more expensive earphones will have even better treble and soundstage but it is incredibly difficult to complain about the sound from the Air5 Pro.

I find the SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ to have better voice isolation.

Call quality is normal, usable.

Battery life

SoundPEATS advertised 7.5hr of battery life with another 37hr from the charging case. They did not mention whether that's the battery life with ANC so chances are it's without ANC.

From my tests with ANC on and Bluetooth multi-point pairing disabled, battery life is just 4hr. Battery life is alright, but understand that after one year of usage, battery life will be much lower. Battery lie is about the same as the SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+.

Conclusion

The SoundPEATS Air5 Pro provides good value for money. I prefer the SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ that I've received for review purposes, and still am using as my main earphones. SoundPEATS Capsule3 Pro+ has slightly better audio quality, a better case, but it's also more expensive.

Downside to me is the 4hr battery life with ANC. With battery degradation through usage, that will be lower in one year's time.
