Review: Kuxiu X53 Mini laptop stand with USB and HDMI

Kuxiu X53 Mini laptop stand isn't actually that mini, just a much different design from the Kuxiu X53 rotating laptop stand I've featured before.

This is a folding laptop stand that comes with 4K 60Hz HDMI video output, 1x USB-C and 2x USB-A ports with 5Gbps transfer speed, microSD and SD card slots.

In the box, you'll find the laptop stand, 50cm high speed USB-C video cable, drawstring carrying pouch and the user manual.

This laptop stand is made with full metal except for the rubber paddings for the base and laptop. Build quality is excellent.

Weight of 900g is considered heavy but that's to be excepted with all the metal.

Typing on it feels sturdy.

According to the company, weight capacity is 5k. But when I rest my wrists on my 1.6kg laptop, the support X-plate will move down. Hinge is stiff but I don't think it's stiff enough to handle a laptop and your resting wrists on it. If you type without resting your wrists, then that's alright. There's unfortunately no locking mechanism for the support X-plate.

There are no exposed screws for the hinge so there doesn't seem to be any way to tighten the hinge. I can't say whether the hinge will become loose in the future.

If your laptop is 1.4kg or lighter, there should be no issue with resting your wrists on the laptop.

The best way to angle the laptop stand is to have the main support more vertical. But this also makes the laptop stand quite tall, 20cm in front and 30cm on the back.

If you want to have the laptop stand lower, you have to avoid resting your palm on the support X-plate.

Having ports on the laptop stand is convenient and useful.

Transfer speed for the USB ports is fast enough to edit 4K videos.

The ledge protrudes out by 2cm so that should be enough to hold thick laptops. It is possible to have a drawing tablet on it but resting your wrist on the ledge will be uncomfortable.

This can be used as a tablet stand as well.

To conclude, it's quite a heavy laptop stand. This is good if you're looking for a tall laptop stand, but not good if you just want to prop up your laptop slightly.
