Design

Design of this dock is not very different from the countless MagSafe external storage except this has the advantages of the many ports, namely:
- USB-C 100W power input
- USB-C host
- USB-A 10Gbps
- USB-C 10Gbps
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- Full-size HDMI 4K 120Hz
- MicroSD card slot
- SD card slot

That MagSafe ring can be attached to non-MagSafe phones or phone cases to make them work with the dock.

HDMI works fine. Audio will go to HDMI. When playing Youtube videos, you can zoom in on the phone to get a zoomed-in view on the external display.
HDMI does not power the external display, and does not transmit touch signal.

The dock supports 2230 M.2 NVMe SSDs but I only have 2280 so I tested those. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my 2280 M.2 NVMe SSDs to work with the dock. I don't sure if it's an issue with the physical length of the SSD or something else.

I did manage to measure the speed of an external SSD connected to the dock which connects to the computer and it's 850 MB/s for read and 950 MB/s for write. That speed is near the advertised transfer speed of an installed internal 2230 M.2 SSD.
To conclude, the dock with many ports is convenient and all those things I could test worked fine. It's a good dock and is not too expensive so it's worth the money.
If you do not need the SD card readers, you can go with the model MG5.
