Review: Goojodoq iPad Magic Keyboard A1935

Review sample provided by Goojodoq

Goojodoq has just released another magnetic keyboard case for the different iPad models. This new model A1935 is a slight variation of the earlier one I had reviewed months ago.

Price of this keyboard case at the time of review is around SGD 100 - 130 on Shopee SG. This keyboard case looks like the original Apple Magic Keyboard but is selling at less than one third of the price.

The iPads compatible with this case are:

  • iPad (2022, 2025)
  • iPad Air (2020 - 2025)
  • iPad Pro (2018 - 2024)

Make sure you get the correct model for your tablet.

This A1935 model can be identified by a few key features, namely the lack of a power button, % battery life indicator, metal keyboard deck and the USB-C charging port at the hinge.

This keyboard case is well made. The exterior is PU leather. Weight is not listed but it's a heavy keyboard case, just like all keyboard cases.

The case is thin enough but it will still make the tablet much thicker. The keyboard case does not protect the sides of the tablet.

The keyboard case I have is for the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro and the keyboard is almost full-size. There's also a row of function key shortcuts. The % battery life indicator is useful because it lets you know when to charge the keyboard.

Build quality is amazing as the keyboard deck is metal and there's no flex at all.

There are magnets on the wrist rest area that attaches to the tablet, so two hands are needed to open the case.

Typing experience is wonderful. Keys have good travel and feedback. Keys do not feel filmsy. There's backlight for the keys and colours can be changed with keyboard shortcuts.

Keyboard is quick to wake with a tap on any key, and will power off automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity.

Angle of adjustment is limited compared to keyboard cases that use kickstands. This design is good for people who prefer the laptop-like design.

The attachment area has this soft cloth-like texture to prevent scratching the tablet. Nice.

The only downside this keyboard has is there's no power switch.

This is a Bluetooth keyboard and does not use the pogo pins for connection. The tablet is still connected to the keyboard via Bluetooth after it's detached from the case, which means the virtual keyboard will not appear when you tap into a text box to write. So to show the virtual keyboard, you either have to disable Bluetooth, disconnect the Bluetooth keyboard connection or set the virtual keyboard to show even when a physical keyboard is connected. All are not elegant solutions. Earlier models of this keyboard case has a power switch where you can power off the keyboard to disconnect Bluetooth quickly and easily.

So this keyboard could have been perfect if there's a power switch. Having said that, this is still a keyboard case that I can recommend very easily because it looks good, feels premium and works well.

This Goojodoq keyboard case is available on Shopee SG and AliExpress.
