Books I'm getting for February 2009

The Art of Monsters vs Aliens

Nothing thrills me more than getting an art book of an animation movie. This time round it's The Art of Monsters vs Aliens (Amazon link).

An Illustrated Life

An Illustrated Life (Amazon link) is the second book on my shopping list. I love looking at sketches, journals and watercolour. At 272 pages, this book seems to have plenty. Plus, the reviews on Amazon are overwhelmingly positive.

The Art of the Video Game

I actually bought The Art of the Video Game (Amazon link) way back in Nov 2008. Somehow my order got lost and the book never reached me. I had to wait two months from the day I ordered to the day when my money was refunded. I'm going to try ordering it again.

Although I don't really play a lot of video games, I thought the graphics are pretty good.

Everyone has the right to my opinion by michael ramirez

This book is on the list because I'm ordering it for a friend.

Everyone Has the Right to My Opinion is a political cartoon book by Michael Ramirez (wiki). He is a two-time American Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist. You can check out his cartoons at Investor's Business Daily. The customer reviews on Amazon are overwhelmingly positive.

Bold Visions

This is Bold Visions by Gary Tonge (Amazon link). I don't think I actually have anything to say about this book at the moment.

Watchmen The Art of the Film

This is the last book on my shopping list, Watchmen The Art of the Film (Amazon link). This book is in stock at my local bookshop, but I'm ordering it online because it's just much cheaper. It is however only in stock on Amazon estimated 10 Feb.

The other book coming out on the same day is Watchmen: Portraits (Amazon link). Previews of pages from the book are already floating around on the Internet. You can find them here, here and here. The last link is from the watchmencomicmovie.com.

I won't be getting the Portraits book and the Film Companion, at least not in this month.
