I hate it when publishers take the same book and reprint and distribute it under another name. Such is the case here with Hazel Soan's book The Artist's Color Guide – Watercolor. The other book that features the same content is Watercolour Rainbow: Exploring the colours in your palette. Only the cover art and price are different, so get the cheaper version.
If you haven't seen my earlier review of the other book, well, this is a beginners book that talks about watercolour and its characteristic. The second half of the book looks at different colours, their significance and the types of mixes you can create with them. It's an insightful book and the examples are beautiful.
The downside is it doesn't talk much about techniques and isn't particularly in depth. The content is good enough for beginners and is worth buying. If you want something more substantial, a book that can be used as a reference, you should check out Watercolor Artist's Guide to Exceptional Color, Color Choices: Making Color Sense Out of Color Theory and Making Colour Sing.
