Here (New York State, US) it's about $10.50 US for standard 2D when they come out, $17.50 US for IMAX, $4.50 US at the little theater that gets movies when every other theater is done playing them (usually 2 - 3 months later). :)
I'm in Canada.
Depending which theater I go, it's around $10-12 for a regular movie, $8 for a matinee (my usual), $3 extra in 3D, and almost $20 Imax/Imax3D. And usually a few dollars cheaper for kids and over 60.
2D - $2.5 (students) , $4 regular (little children have some discount, not sure how much)
3D around $7-8
Same price all week.
PS. Check out those prices around the world..$15, $20, $25!! Damn!
Last movie i want to see was Prometheus...awesome movie, new modern cinema..always the same price..15 Kuna ($2.43)...love it!:)
Here in Mumbai - India there is one IMAX screen where we prefer to watch most our films...for The Dark Knight Rises they have shows running from 7 in the morning...7 and 10 o clock shows are Rs.350.00 flat rate ( USD 6.25) any show after that is for Rs.400 (USD 7) or Rs.600 (USD 10.7)...some times they reduce the prices if the movie is running for more weeks. Also non Imax screens are about Rs.250 (USD 4) in most good cinema halls.
Does anyone know of a country/city in which cinema ticket prices between movies? (NOTE: this does not include price discrimination based on age, 2D vs 3D screenings, or matinee discounts/opening night premiums)
Tickets in London (at current weak pound exchange rates) are $18, standard 11 pound at all cinemas. far to prices when most people are paid min wage 6 quid...
