XP-Pen Deco Fun: Affordable tablet for all (review)

XP-Pen Deco Fun is an affordable tablet designed for casual uses. XP-Pen says this is for study, work, game and draw.

These are the three sizes and their respective active area:

  • XS: 4.8 x 3 inches - US$26.99
  • S: 6.3 x 4 inches - US$35.99
  • L: 10 x 6.25 inches - US$44.99

And there are four colours to choose from: red, black, green, blue.

The pricing is definitely affordable. If you have plans to work on this tablet for long periods of time, I recommend the large model because the 10 x 6.25 inch active area is more comfortable to work with, and goes well together with most display or laptop sizes. Or just get one suitable for the size of your table.

The tablet comes with a P01 battery-free pen, replacement tips and a nib remover.

Design of the tablet is clean and simple. There are no shortcut buttons.

Build quality is quite solid.

Tablet is quite thin and all edges are rounded off or beveled.

On the back are four rubber feet for grip.

The pen supports tilt and up to 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity.

Note that tilt is not supported on the XS-sized tablet though.

There are drivers for MacOS, Windows and Linux. Tablet can also be used with ChromeOS and Android.

There's nothing much to change with the driver except assign shortcuts to the pen's two shortcut buttons.

The drawing and writing performance of the tablet is great. Actually the drawing performance is no different compared to XP-Pen's other more expensive or full-feature tablets.

Pen is accurate and pressure sensitivity works well. Lines can taper smoothly. It's easy to maintain constant pressure. Tilt sensitivity also works fine.

Only issue I noticed is the pen tip is not firm. So there's some in-out movement. But this is very typical behaviour common with such pens from drawing tablets.

Overall, this is an affordable tablet that's quite worth the money. It's good for those who are working from home (WFH), doing home-based teaching, osu! and of course drawing.

Even though the xs is

Even though the xs is advertised as 220hertz and no 60 degree tilt, in my own testing that is completely false, it is 266 hertz and does indeed support 60 degree tilt.
