SoundPEATS Air5 Pro+ (review) with xMEMS + 10mm drivers
Review unit provided by SoundPEATS
The SoundPEATS Air5 Pro+ are wireless earphones with xMEMS + 10mm drivers and ANC. These were released in November 2025, just few months after the Air5 Pro what I've also reviewed. Price for the earphones are USD 129 and US 79 respectively. Price difference is huge. Anyway, actual prices from online stores are likely to be lower.
According to the marketing, the main upgrade seems to be the use of the xMEMS driver that's supposed to have 4x faster response, ultra-low distortion and crisp and warm highs.
Bottom line
In terms of sound quality, it's quite similar to the amazing sounding SoundPEATS H3 which is also USD 129. There's good clarity and decent amount of bass, and ANC works well. I prefer the design of Air5 Pro+ which is more comfortable.
Main downside is the 3.5 hours of battery life with ANC. Battery capacity for wireless earphones are small so after a year of charging, battery life is likely to drop to just 2.5 hours with ANC. And by the end of the second year, you'll be looking to buy a new pair of earphones.

Design

Shown above are the charging cases for the Air5 Pro+ and Capsule3 Pro+. The Air5 Pro+ case is better because it's easier to take the earphones out and put them back.

Design of the stem-style earbuds look good.

I find the M-sized ear tips to be slightly loose for my small ears and unfortunately for me, the extra sets of ear tips are S and M -- no L-sized ear tips are included. M-sized is not loose but a better fit will provide better noise isolation and ANC.

The Air5 Pro+ are certainly fit my ear better than the bud-style SoundPEATS H3.
Sound quality
The only other SoundPEATS earphones I have currently are the Capsule3 Pro+ and H3. Air5 Pro+ sounds better than the Capsule3 Pro+, and sounds quite similar to the H3. I no longer have the Air5 Pro so I can't compare with that.
There's good clarity and decent amount of bass. Soundstage is alright. I feel like H3 has slightly better soundstage but it's difficult to tell.
The sound quality matches the price point in my opinion. And chances are you can find this selling at a lower price than official retail price so the earphones do provide good value for money.
Codecs supported are SBC, AAC, LC3, LDAC, aptX, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless.
For phone calls, I have people telling me that my volume is too low on numerous occasions. I don't think the mic is able to pick up voice that well, so these earphones are best used just for listening.
App

The companion app is called PeatsAudio.
With the app, you can adjust:
- ANC, transparent, normal mode
- Enable/disable touch
- Touch shortcuts
- Dual device connection: When enabled, LDAC is disabled
- Game mode with low-latency 60ms
- EQ: Choose from presets or customise the curve
Bluetooth multipoint pairing is a useful feature that lets you pair the earphones with two devices. To switch between devices, just stop the media on the first devices, then start playing the media from the second device.
Battery life
Kudos to SoundPEATS for actually listing rather accurate battery life estimates. I did measure around 3.5 - 4 hours of battery life with ANC.
The battery life is just alright. I wish it could be more. This is one area where the user experience can be dramatically improved and felt compared to those minor tweaks with audio.
| Mode | Audio Codec | Battery Life |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | SBC | 6H |
| AAC | 6H | |
| LDAC | 4H | |
| APTX Adaptive | 4.5H | |
| ANC | SBC | 3.5H |
| AAC | 3.5H | |
| LDAC | 3H | |
| APTX Adaptive | 3.5H |
Battery life with LDAC and ANC is just 3 hours (advertised). With the charging case, you can get a total of 30 hours of playtime.
The problem with short battery life of earphones is, after a year, the battery health will deplete quite noticeable due to the frequent charging which runs up the charge cycles.
Conclusion
The SoundPEATS Air5 Pro+ looks goods and has good audio quality. I hope the company can increase the battery life because that's the main downside here. The earphones are lightweight enough so I believe it's possible to pack a bigger battery.
