Kaneko Yuji is a Japanese background artist with immense experience with creating environment art. The quality of his art is at the level of Hiromasa Ogura, Oga Kazuo and Makoto Shinkai.

If you love Japanese animation background art, this book is pretty much a must buy. The artworks are beautiful and detailed. The mood and atmosphere are captured perfectly. There's a mix of sci-fi and fantasy concepts as well as the traditional Japanese cities, suburbs and villages. You'll even see Godzilla with other kaijus in some of the paintings.

The book's a 256-page paperback with low gloss paper with good print quality and binding. The artworks are reproduced really well. There are design commentary and several lengthy interviews but they are all in Japanese.

As for the animation or films included, there are just too many to list, and difficult for me to list too due to the Japanese titles.
