Review: Wacom One Elastomer and Felt Pen Nibs

Wacom One Pen and the Wacom One Standard Pen are two pens made specifically for the Wacom One pen display. These two pens come with plastic nibs by default but you can also use the elastomer or felt pen nibs with them.

The price for one pack of pen nibs is around US $10 and you get ten pieces.

The pen nibs are stored in smaller paper packs with five in each small packs.

Shown above are:

• Samsung S Pen soft nib with triangular head
• Wacom One elastomer pen nib
• Wacom One felt pen nib
• Wacom One default plastic pen nib
• Generic Wacom EMR pen nib

One huge advantage that the Wacom One pen nibs over the Samsung ones is the head is bigger so it's easier to remove. Shown above is a Samsung S Pen nib that's damaged because my metal nib remove keeps sliding off the angled sides.

The Wacom One elastomer nib is firm and has no movement when writing on glass. The pen nib has some resistance on the glass and feels just like the soft pen tip of the Samsung S Pen nibs. This extra resistance provides more control and makes the pen tip less slippery, so this is better for drawing purposes.

The elastomer pen nib does not glide easily on matte surfaces, so avoid using this pen nib on textured surfaces.

The Wacom One felt nib does not feel much different compared to plastic nibs when writing except the tapping sound is dampened. This pen nib is smoother on glass and this is better for writing purposes.

This pen nib works well on both glossy and matte surfaces. When writing on matte surfaces, there really isn't much difference with the overall experience with the felt and plastic pen nib.

I highly recommend the Wacom elastomer pen nib over the Samsung pen nibs because they have the same performance as the Samsung soft pen nib, but are easier to remove with the nib remover.
