Review: Pitaka Edge Case with Aaron Button for S26 Ultra

Review sample provided by Pitaka

Pitaka Edge Case with Aaron Button is one of the best phone cases for Samsung S26 Ultra. This case looks good and provides three physical configurable shortcut buttons on the side.

Price of the case is USD 59 and while it's pricey, it's still worth the money because of those three extra shortcut buttons which are incredibly useful. There are several designs but the company only sent me Over the Horizon and Moment Moonrise. Visit their website to see all the designs.

Shown in the photo above by the right is the MagSafe magnetic thumbgrip which is USD 20.

These Pitaka Edge Cases are made with Aramid fiber so they are durable, lightweight and thin. They barely add any thickness or weight to the phone.

A process called Fusion Weaving is used to create the designs. The surface is matte textured and smooth, not too slippery, thankfully. It's a hard case with slight flex.

Pitaka also has another case called the Cairn Case that's thicker, heavier and offers drop protection. The difference between Edge Case and Cairn Case is 25g vs 44g, 1.2mm thickness vs 1.9mm.

I do not have the Pitaka Cairn Case so I'm not sure how much more bulky the phone will be with that case, but the Pitaka Edge Case feels so minimalist like you're not using a phone case.

Fitting is perfect. The cutouts for the buttons, USB-C port, S Pen and speaker are precise. Edges are raised slightly to prevent the glass from touching the table when the phone faces down. There's also allowance for a screen protector.

The camera protector is raised slightly to protect the three lens.

The Aaron Button feature is actually the three buttons by the side. Those buttons don't protrude so you can't actually feel them with your finger, and have to rely on the white markers to see where they are. Clicking feedback isn't that noticeable but at least they work.

Pitaka has provided the Aaron Button app to help configure the buttons. NFC needs to be enabled for the buttons to work. You can use the app to assign the buttons to launch an app, or use some pre-programmed shortcuts, e.g. launch touch, enable/disable airplane mode etc.

Those three shortcut buttons are so useful. I don't know of any other phone cases that has this feature. When you set those three buttons to your most often used apps, it can provide so much convenience. This feature is what separate this Pitaka phone case with phone cases from other companies. And this phone case is worth buying just for the Aaron Button feature.

The phone case supports MagSafe and can be used with MagSafe accessories, such as magnetic thumbgrips, wireless chargers, wireless powerbanks etc. I find the MagSafe ring to be too close to the camera bump so some of my MagSafe video recording phone holders cannot be used.

The magnetic thumbgrip is quite useful too as it can deploy the phone vertically and horizontally.

Design of the thumbgrip also matches the design of the phone cases.

Conclusion

This phone case not only protects your phone but also provides extra functionality. Those three shortcut buttons is easily the main selling feature to me.

If you're interested to buy this phone case, you can get it from Pitaka online store. Make sure to get the cases with the Aaron Button as there are cases without them.
