Review: KiiBOOM Jade 75 wireless mechanical keyboard
Review unit provided by KiiBOOM
The KiiBOOM Jade 75 is 75% wireless mechanical keyboard made with resin molding. The keyboard is available in clear with the character keys on top, and the white model has character keys facing the front.
This is a keyboard where the whole body, included the bottom, would glow with RGB lights. If you're into this sort of thing, this keyboard may be for you.
Price of this keyboard is USD 199, sometimes discounted to USD 169.

Design
The finishing of this keyboard that's made with resin molding is quite good. The surface if polished and smooth with a gloss. Build quality is extremely solid, and the keyboard weighs around 1.35kg.
The keyboard has this frosted translucent look that's quite quite cool.
The only parts that are not translucent are the mirror on the bottom, the metal plate with the port and the metal parts beside the function keys. So the RGB lights will not shine through those areas.
The 75% keyboard layout has 80 hot-swappable keys. The keyboard is slightly wider than most keyboards I've tested. When I want to hit the Delete key, sometimes I would hit the F12 key instead. There's no Ctrl-Right or Command-Right key and without those keys are are many keyboard shortcuts on the rightside that I cannot use with one hand, e.g. Ctrl+O. For MacOS, the Alt-Right is mapped to an Option-Right.
According to the company, the keyboard uses a "damping components like sandwich foam, switch pads, PET acoustic film, switch socket foam, and bottom foam, ensures rigidity and reduces flex."
Connections supported are 2.4Ghz, Bluetooth (3 devices) and wired.
The downside is the USB-A wireless receiver cannot be stored on the keyboard itself.
The company mentioned there's some UV tech used to enhance colour vibrancy and prevent fading.
KiiBOOM Crystal Switches (linear) are used. The tic-tock typing sound is slightly dampened, and there's a slightly cushion feel to the keys. I don't think it sounds as good as other keyboards I've tested, but the sound profile is really subjective. Overall typing experience feels great.
Specifications for the KiiBOOM Crystal Switch:
- Switch type: Linear
- Total Travel: 3.60±0.3mm
- Pre Travel: 2.0±0.5mm
- Actuation Force: 47±15gf
- Bottom Force: 55gf Max
- Material: PC
The keyboard is compatible with QMK and VIA customisation but I did not test that. The keyboard works fine as it is.
The review unit I have is the crystal version that shows off the RGB lights really well. The way the light shines through the translucent or frosted looks pretty cool. The sides and even the bottom are translucent.
If you want a keyboard that's eye-catching or looks very different, this is the one to consider.
The lights can be controlled with keyboard shortcuts easily.
Battery life
Battery life is just 2 days if you have RGB lights on for 8 hours a day. I did not manage to test the battery life if you are to use the keyboard without lights but it should usually be weeks.
Conclusion
The design asethetics of the KiiBOOM Jade 75 may not have the wide appeal of safer keyboard designs, but to me the keyboard actually looks pretty good. The glow of the RGB lights through the keys looks cool.
The typing sound profile is alright and there's nothing special that I want to say. Typing experience overall is good though.
