Barry grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, still lives in Cleveland, and hopes to die somewhere besides Cleveland. He received a BFA in painting from Bowling Green State University. He illustrates children's books, writes and draws greeting cards, and raids the refrigerator from his home studio.
