Comic-Con Special Guest DREW STRUZAN will be signing copies of his new book THE ART OF DREW STRUZAN in Autograph Alley (AA19) on Saturday Jul 24 at 11am!
Collecting never-before-seen comps and sketches, alternative concepts and work-in-progress art alongside his inimitable finished posters, this awesome coffee-table book won’t be available anywhere else until September, so this is your chance to bag an early copy and meet the man himself in an extremely rare personal appearance.
He will also be appearing in a panel on Friday Jul 23 at 5pm in Room 7AB.
He is the favorite artist of both George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and the artist behind some of the most iconic images of our time… he is Drew Struzan.
Struzan has worked on the posters for the biggest films of the last 30 years. Blade Runner, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and E.T: The Extraterrestrial to name but a few.
The first ever book to cover Struzan’s iconic poster artwork in depth, with the final artwork for each piece accompanied by background and anecdotes from an exclusive interview with the artist. With an introduction to Struzan’s philosophies and techniques, this stunning hardcover will include photos, sketches and reference material, plus closeups and a brief history of each poster featured, from Star Wars to The Goonies.
About the Author
Drew Struzan has painted album covers, advertising, collectibles, and book covers, but he is best known for his extensive movie poster work.
A particular favorite artist of film directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, Struzan created distinct and indelible images for many of their film releases, with Spielberg decreeing that Struzan be the only artist allowed to render the space-creature character E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
