This is one of two picture books on career choices for kids published by Thames and Hudson. This book is on what it takes to be a Viking while the other book is on being a Roman soldier. These books are meant to be more fun than serious as obviously these career choices don't exists anymore today.
This book covers all the details of what it takes to be a Viking. It talks about the criteria of being one, socialising with other crew on the ship, how to train, dealing with sea sickness, navigating the seas, types of armor and weapons to use, discipline, war strategies and more.
The text by author Georgia Amson-Bradshaw is short, concise and interesting, and illustration by Takayo Akiyama are fun and humorous.
This is an engaging book for kids who will get to learn some general knowledge. If you're getting this, it worth getting the other book on Roman soldier too.
