Book Review: Draw Manga: Step-By-Step on Your Computer
This book is tremendously helpful if you're a beginner wanting to draw manga using your computer. It's one of the most practical book on digital manga I've seen.
The step-by-step tutorials are detailed with tons of screenshots. They explain what's going to be done and what to do. The instructions on using Photoshop are clear and simple to follow. The book literally goes through which specific button to click and the results to see instantly.
Although the book title is "Draw Manga", it would be more accurate to called it "Colouring Manga". There are no drawing lessons. The book is about creating a coloured illustration with line art already done.
The download link for the line art in the book no longer works. However, the original line art is available in the book itself for a scan.
It's highly recommended for beginning manga artists. When I first started out (cartooning), it took me a while to figure out how to translate computer commands and use them to create art. This book would have saved me a lot of time back then.

Hey Parka..I just picked up the book. I downloaded the provided images online..but when it came to doning the "ant-marches" using the wand tool, I couldn't use it! The little dotted lines didn't follow the line in the tutorial, but just squared the WHOLE IMAGE. Have you actually tried doing it step by step? If so..what am I doing wrong, as I've tried it several times to no avail. I found you through Goodreads.
@Aika Not sure where you are,
@Aika
Not sure where you are, but you might need to turn on the check box "Sample All Layers" when you're using the Magic Wand.
Can these lessons also be
Can these lessons also be applied to Krita or any coloring software? Thanks for the review

@Andyman
You can, the functions in drawing software are more or less the same.
The confusing part will be finding out where the functions are because different apps place their functions in the menu at different places.
