Book Review: Daily Zoo Year 2: Keeping the Doctor at Bay with a Drawing a Day

Daily Zoo Year 2: Keeping the Doctor at Bay with a Drawing a Day

Daily Zoo Year 2 continues where the first has left off. Chris Ayers provides us with yet another year of wonderful characters and reflects on his treatment from leukemia with inspiring stories.

The Daily Zoo is fun with its humorous and oftentimes whimsical illustrations. It is in many ways better than a real zoo. Where else can you see stuff like Bridezilla, Unicycling Uakari, Badass-ilisk, Saggy Bunnies, a few dinosaurs, aliens or even a carnivorous Christmas tree? There is no lack of surprises from cover to cover.

Chris Ayers gives his animals so much character you'll feel you know them from somewhere. The drawings are beautiful and detailed, especially the textures on the animals. He also shares lots of tips on character design.

This book is filled with creativity and it's such an inspiring read. It also comes with a bookmark and postcard.

Very highly recommended. I hope there another year coming.

Just wanted to let you know that your blog is super. My favorite!
It makes me buy all the books here. I dont have enough money for them all, though...
You really help us know better the books we want to buy before doing it.

Keep up the good work...
Thanks

I have the first book, will get the second for sure- It's much more than wonderful and hilarious drawings, it's one big real emotional life story.
Parka, thanks for the good review.
Chris Ayers, wish you health and happy life, waitting for your next book :-)

I bought the first edition of this book and just love it. However, I felt really bad for not remembering to buy it from your link. So, I decided to buy this copy from your link. Keep up the great reviews :-D

Have you saw the price of this book on Amazon.com ? 400$ to 3999$ (used in paperpack) ????? The sellers on amazon.com are crazy, or maybe stupid. You can find it on amazon.ca for 17$ (new).

Someone know why the paperback is so expensive? What's the difference between the hardcover and the paperback? (only 19USD in hardcover, 1000USD for paperback).
Thanks
