Book Review: Multigrain

Book Review: Multigrain

Multigrain is collection of some of Martin Hsu's paintings. It's a square format hardcover with 58 pages.

Inside, the paintings are mainly created with the traditional medium, so there's a very textural feel. The art features strange worlds and creatures, with influence from Chinese iconography and even a bit from pop culture. The art is beautiful but features a different sort of fantasy. There are giant possibly-alien monkeys in hot springs, kid with Pikachu's fur, people wearing Hello Kitty masks in some ceremony, and a white-hair lady battling some giant monsters throughout the pages.
