Book Review: Legacy: Selected Paintings and Drawings by Frank Frazetta
Legacy seems to be the perfect word to refer to Frank Frazetta's paintings, the same ones that have inspired artists all over.
This 192-page art book is one of the three books published on Frank Frazetta by publisher Underwood Books, the other two being Icon: A Retrospective by the Grand Master of Fantastic Art Frank Frazetta and Testament: The Life and Art of Frank Frazetta.
There are some repeats from the book Icon but majority are published for the first time. About half the paintings are published at full page size, and many of those paintings come with accompanying preliminary rough. There are lots of work created for Tarzan, Burroughs, other book covers and even a few pages of romance comics.
Every painting comes with commentary and insight from Frazetta himself. There are also a couple of essays on Frazetta written by those who know him.
Recommended to those who like fantasy art, figure drawing and Frank Frazetta.

This book is very
This book is very inspirational, and I didn't know there were more! I think I'd like to check out the other two as well.
Strangely though, I like the page that says "godammit! You guys quit trying to paint like Frazetta, there can be only one Frazetta and He's it!"
