Going through this 66-page paperback sketchbook by Luis Ruiz really brings back memories of me visiting the place a few years ago with my sketcher friends Paul, Tia and Kiah Kiean. We were in Granada, Spain, on holiday after the USK Symposium in Barcelona. Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex there. The place was really impressive. Unfortunately we only had a day there and wasn't really able to explore Alhambra in greater detail.
This sketchbook collects the beautiful sketches that capture the amazing architecture, the intricate carvings, design and scriptures that decorate the walls. The sketches are drawn with pen, ink and watercolour. The stylus is loose and casual, inviting.
One can certainly spend a few days just sketching inside the palace. You do need to buy a ticket to enter the place though.
If you like sketchbooks, this is a lovely one to add to your collection.
