Review: Yunzii B98 Pro wireless mechanical 96% keyboard

Review unit provided by Yunzii

The Yunzii B98 Pro is a wireless mechanical 96% keyboard released in Feb 2026. Price of this keyboard at the time of review is USD 92. Shipping is free for most countries.

My current main keyboard is actually the Yunzii B98 Pro that I've been using since 2024, and that's a great keyboard. By the way, I've reviewed many Yunzii keyboards over the years.

The Yunzii B98 Pro is just a larger variant. The other noticeable difference is the knob is a cat, which is actually quite cute and cool. The cat peeking through the keycaps is whimsy. I like it.

Design

This is a beautiful and well made keyboard. The whole thing is made with plastic but the build quality is good. Only the aluminium keyboards have better build quality. Corners are rounded off and edges are beveled. The keyboard has an accessible friendly design.

The keyboard is available in pink, blue, beige and black. The colour scheme looks good for all.

The keyboard features a gasket structure with multiple layers for sound dampening.

The keyboard supports QMK/VIA customisation for the keys but I did not test that as I'm fine with how the keys work already.

The cat knob at the corner is definitely a highlight. The knob can be used to adjust volume, mute and unmute. If you don't like the cat, you can replace it with a standard knob. I see the potential to have more animals.

Oh, there's a numpad which is convenient for those who need a numpad. If you don't need the numpad, you can go with a smaller 75% keyboard that takes up less space on the table.

The keycaps are double-shot PBT cherry profile keycaps.

There are two options for switches: Yunzii Milk V2 linear and Yunzii Candy linear.

Choose Milk V2 linear is you want a thinner lighter sound. Choose Candy linear if you want a deeper thic thoc sound. If this is your first mechanical keyboard, I'll probably recommend the Candy linear switch for that satisfying thocky typing experience.

Back of the keyboard has two foldout feet with two options for height adjustment. There's also a reflective mirror plate on the back.

Even the rubber feet has Yunzii logo on them.

Hidden in one of the feet compartment is a storage area for the 2.4Ghz wireless USB-A receiver.

Connection supported are cable, 2.4Ghz and Bluetooth (up to three devices). There's also a Mac-Windows switch at the top. The USB-C port also has RGB lights.

The RGB lights are beautiful but they don't shine through the legends. Keyboard shortcuts can be used to control the lights, such as brightness, animation speed, pattern. Even the light for the USB-C port can be controlled.

There's also a light by the right side of the arrow keys.

The keyboard works better with Windows than with Mac because there's no right-Opt key. There are also no replacement keycaps for Mac.

Conclusion

The Yunzii B98 Pro is a good keyboard selling at a reasonable price. Typing experience is great. Just make sure you choose your preferred switches carefully, and I recommend the Candy linear switches.

I've been using the Yunzii B75 Pro for more than a year and I don't really have any complaints. I just wished I had gone for the Candy linear switches instead.

I enjoy checking out new keyboards from Yunzii and this one's interesting because of the cat. It's something that's different from all the serious looking keyboards out there, but it's not too comical.
