Review: Aecooly Cold Air misting portable fan

I received two new portable fans to test and review and thing that caught my attention is they can spray a mist.

These fans are definitely more bulky compared to the popular Jisulife fans. These fans are bulky because they have to fit the misting mechanism and needs space to store water.

The back can be opened easily to refill water. When using the misting feature non-stop, the water can last for around 6 minutes.

The water mist is more effective at cooling than I expected. You know that feeling you get when you just dried yourself with a towel after bath, or just wiped yourself with a wet wipe, you'll get that feeling with the misting effect.

When the environment is hot, a normal fan would just blow hot air. With the mist, the water will evaporate and causes cooling. This is science so it works. This will cool your skin, or the air around you. And you'll actually feel the cooling sensation.

The more expensive Aecooly Cold Air Ultra has higher fan speed, comes with a touchscreen display that can control the fan speed, and has USB-C reverse charging up to 20W. The downside is it's noisy even is the lowest speed. It's very likely people near you are gonna look at you when the fan is on. This fan will make you feel self conscious.

The touchscreen sometimes doesn't respond. Thankfully you can press the power button to adjust the fan speed, by 20 levels (out of 100) each time. At maximum speed, it sounds like a mini jet engine.

The Aecooly Cold Air is more quiet, more discreet. It has 5 levels of fan speed adjustable with the physical button. I can recommend this fan easily just because it's more quiet.

To get continuous mist, you can press the mist button. To get 10 seconds of mist, press the button twice. There is a chance the misting mechanism may overheat and if so you'll see the overheating sign. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen occasionally. Not a big issue as the fan still works without the mist.

One thing I wish the fans have is some sort of stand so that you can adjust the angle of the fan. This lets you put the fan on the table and point it at your face. Shown in the photo above is me buying a double clamp to clamp the fan so that it can point at me while I'm sketching outdoors in the hot weather.

Battery life for both fans is good. There's also the battery indicator so you'll always know when the battery life is low.
