Book Review: Make (Sneaky) Art: and other ideas to build your sketchbook habit
Nishant Jain, aka Sneaky Artist, is from India and started out studying engineering, then went on to pursue a PhD in Neuroscience, only to quit to become a writer, and accidentally became an artist. He also happens to host the Sneaky Art Podcast where he interviews artists from around the world, and I was on one of the podcast episodes.
Make (Sneaky) Art is a book on creativity, urban sketching, slowing down and enjoying the moment. This 144-page paperback published by Quarry Books has personal stories from Nishant as he's sketching on the street, sketching tips and of course beautiful sketches.
As someone who loves urban sketching, I really enjoy this book as I enjoy the art, thought process, stories and being able to travel vicariously.
This book is not a structured book that teaches urban sketching, but it's more of a collection of tips and techniques. The book's suitable for beginners and for more experience sketchers, this is a book you flip though for inspiration and motivation.
