Book Review: Urban Sketchers Singapore Vol. 1
Here's the first compilation of Singapore sketches by the local Urban Sketchers group.
I've been sketching with the group for a while now. There's certainly a sense of satisfaction when looking at and holding the book. This is a hardcover with the sketches printed on smooth cream paper. It's slightly larger than A5 in size, quite thick at 248 pages.
It still feels a bit strange to be looking at a book without cover art. However, this is also a good example of not judging the book by it's cover.
Inside, it collects the sketches and photos that were created in 2010-2011. Even though it's a short duration of time, some of the buildings that were sketched had already been torn down. The memories now live on the pages of the book.
Over 30 artists have submitted their beautiful sketches for the book. The immense variety styles and techniques is a visual treat. There are also description for the places, stories for some sketchwalks, and interviews with a few sketchers.
It's a wonderful book. Highly recommended.

@Anonymous
The binding is good enough. It's the glue and sewn kind.
