The warranty is only local. So if you do need warranty, you will have to contact the company, usually they will get you to fill up some online form and give you mailing details, and you have to mail back to them. It's more complicated for Japan because of Japanese language, unless you know Japanese.
When you buy something from overseas, you've got to treat it as having no warranty unless you're willing to mail it back.
