If you have to use your desktop software, go with the XP-Pen pen display. Otherwise, the iPad may be a better choice. But the iPad is noticeably more expensive compared to the USD 449 price of the XP-Pen Artist Pro 16.
The only one thing I don't like about this XP-Pen model is how the cable comes out from the top.
XP-Pen has recently released a new Artist 16 (2nd Gen) which is USD 399 and is a better deal simply because it's cheaper. I'm currently testing it and wasn't able to get the Windows driver to work so I'm waiting for XP-Pen to tell me if there's any fix for that, or when the fix will be out.
