Wacom One pen vs other EMR pens (artist review)

The Wacom One pen was released together with the Wacom One pen display from 2019.

This pen uses Wacom EMR technology. It supports tilt, 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and palm rejection. The price is USD 29.99.

The Wacom EMR technology is used by other companies too for their tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy tablets with S Pen, reMarkable e-reader tablets with their pens, and more. Wacom One pen's pricing is very competitive compared to other brands, namely:

The pen is made with plastic and is lightweight. The surface is matte textured and comfortable to hold. The body is cylindrical and can roll off the table.

There is one side button which may be customisable depending on the app you use. The pen nib is firm and has minimal to no movement.

This plastic pen nib is big enough for the nib remover to grip on. This is nicer than those small plastic nibs which are so difficult to grip and pull out.

Three replacement nibs are included. You can also buy replacement nibs made for the Staedtler Noris Digital, Samsung S Pen and Lamy AL-Star EMR.

If you want the soft rubberised nib, you can buy from this seller or this seller from AliExpress.

The pen performance for drawing is great. The pen is accurate and sensitivity. Initial activation is low. There's no wobble or jitter with slowly drawn diagonal lines. Lines are able to taper smoothly and sharply.

The pen has similar drawing performance as the Staedtler Noris Digital (thin one). The Lamy AL-Star EMR pen seems to have even lower initial activation force compared to the Wacom One. This is interested because both pens use the same technology. The Lamy pen is almost two times more expensive than the Wacom One pen though.

The Samsung S Pen perform well enough but not as good as the Wacom One pen for some reason.

Conclusion

The Wacom One pen looks good, works well and is reasonably price. This is a pen I can recommend easily to those who use a tablet that can work with this pen.

I have a Wacom One for

I have a Wacom One for traveling purposes, but I find the Wacom One Pen's initial activation force to be much harder than that of a Wacom Pro Pen. I also miss having an eraser on the end of the pen, so I bought a Staedtler Noris Jumbo, which has an eraser. It also has a lower activation force than the Wacom One Pen, but the eraser doesn't seem to work with Photoshop. I can't seem to find a good solution to all of this.
