In Mass Effect 1 the Guide was really helpful but in ME2 you hardly need it. Quests are coming really quick and they are hard to be overseen. All in all, ME2 is a little bit more easy in this case. However a Guide is always nice but I hope to see a real artbook in the near future. Neither the mini-artbook nor the guide give us something to really enjoy.
