Well, there will still be cables coming out, just that it will be from the monitor. It's definitely neater. But I'm not sure if it's worth spending the extra to upgrade to a new monitor considering your current one's still working fine. Unless it's about the time you always upgrade, then go ahead.
And if you don't need extreme colour accuracy, eg 100% AdobeRGB, you can look for the 100% sRGB models which are going to be way cheaper.
