As a graphic designer and artist, the main advantage of the iPad to me is there are more graphic design apps that can handle typography, vector and layout. For other tasks, both tablets are equally matched mostly, but Samsung provides more features, e.g. S Pen included, microSD card slot, SamsungDex, familiar file management system
Unless you need to use iPad exclusive apps, there's not much compelling reason to go with iPad specifically over Samsung.
I use the iPad for drawing but not for graphic design work, so for me I can also go with Samsung.
