There are no physical shortcut buttons on this pen display. And this is not a touchscreen so you can't use finger gestures to zoom, pan and rotate.
Shortcuts and controls has to be through the keyboard or those shortcut remotes.
If you currently use a gamepad to emulate commands, that should work too. But that gamepad will not have access to all keyboard shortcuts that a proper keyboard will have.
Anyway it really comes down to personal preference and workflow. Some people prefer physical buttons on the pen displays, others like a small shortcut remote, others (like me) just prefer to use a proper keyboard and nothing else.
