Today was an immensely hot day for the sketchwalk at Labrador Park, Singapore. The good time to visit this park is actually in the early morning or late evening. If you're sketching, it's the late evening especially if you want to sketch the boats at Keppel Harbour because there's no shade there in the morning.

Once you're out of the MRT station using the escalator, the boardwalk is on the left side, beside the mangrove swamp.

It's low tide in the morning. I spotted a few tortoises swimming around. There were also fishes and mudskippers.

Mr Allan Chan came well prepared. He used to work in the same company as me but has since retired.

This is the green and cooling side, Labrador Park. The other hot and unsheltered side is Keppel Bay.

I only did one really quick sketch and went back to the park with the rest of the group. Keppel Harbour is much more interesting to draw with all the yachts parked there, but it's not the right time in the morning to draw here. Probably 4pm onwards would be a good time.

It was much more cooling here, with the sea breeze.

I love the architecture of those buildings, Reflections at Keppel Bay.

I always have difficulty mixing colours for anything concrete.

I had to add more water to my watercolours because they were drying too fast in the hot weather.
