Book Review: The Art of Rachel and Terry Dodson

Incredible artbook for comic lovers

This is a wonderful artbook for fans Rachel and Terry Dodson, and comic art. It's a large format 176-page paper back that features selected artworks from 1996 to 2022.

There are beautiful full coloured comic covers as well as the drafts, sketches, inks and commentary. The pencils and line art look so detailed, precise and refined. The print reproduction looks great.

There's much to learn just by looking at how the covers are designed. In this age where many artists are going digital, it's so nice to see the Dodsons are still producing amazing traditional media art before adding colours digitally.

Last few pages of the book features a step by step guide on how the book's cover art was created. Here you can learn some techniques and get some tips from the professionals.

This is an incredible artbook that I can recommend easily.
