The stand is almost all metal except for the rubber feet and padding for the laptop. Build quality is solid. The back plate has holes for ventilation.

This stand can be used with laptops 10 to 17 inches in size.

The base is stable and has good grip on the table. The stand will stay fixed when you rotate the stand.

The ports behind are for:

• 1000 Mbps Ethernet
• 2x USB 3.0 type-A
• HDMI 2.0
• USB-C to host
• USB-C with 87W PD

Cable management is looks okay. One USB-C port will go to the power source, and the other USB-C port will go to the laptop to charge it.

The USB-A ports did not work with my Thunderbolt 4 enclosure.

This laptop stand will elevate the display closer to eye level so that it's more ergonomic -- you don't have to tilt your head much to look down at the laptop display.

That's a 16-inch laptop.

Typing on the laptop will produce slight wobble with the display. It's not the dizzy inducing wobble. That's the limitation with a folding elevated laptop stand design.

That's a 14.6-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It is possible to draw on the stand because the hinge is stiff and can hold its position well. You can actually apply a good amount of pressure and the metal plate will not move. When drawing, there's no wobble at all compared to typing.

There are also no magnets to interfere with the S Pen performance.

The HDMI port can output 4K 60Hz but whether you can reach that limit will depend on your laptop.

If you want to pair this laptop stand with an external display, it's best to use one that matches the elevation or the height of your laptop display. Shown in the photo is a portable display by the side and it's low, so it's weird to look high to the right and low to the left.

Conclusion

The TobenONE UDS031 is a good looking laptop stand and docking station that works well. The only downside is there are only two USB-C ports and one has to connect to the laptop, leaving the other port either for power or for data transfer.
