Book Review: Sushio: The Idol

Sushio: The Idol - 01

When I saw the Kill la Kill artworks, I was like "Oh my goodness, so this is the artist who drew those crazy characters."

I'm a big fan of the animation Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann. To say that I was thrilled to see so many artworks from those anime series in this book is an understatement.

The artworks are gorgeous. The way Sushio draws the characters is so stylish, dynamic and sometimes wacky. The style here is the epitome of Japanese manga or anime style. The colours used, the character poses, the concepts are all what we like about Japanese anime and manga. Sushio has a way to convey so much with so few lines.

Other titles Sushio has worked on and are included in this book are KISSDUM R-ENGAGE planet, MOMOIRO CLOVER Z, other one-off projects and many more. This paperback book has 304 pages.

This artbook is so good. Too good.

Highly recommended.

This is an amazing book and I

This is an amazing book and I was so happy to see it come up for preorders last year; I think the only thing i'm disappointed in is that Amazon listed it as a hardcover at first, which it is most definitely not. Still an amazing book, though.
