A Journey Through Art: A Global History is a beautiful book written by Dr Aaron Rosen and illustrated by Lucy Dalzell to get people interested in art history. The text is written in an engaging straightforward manner that's interesting and insightful. I found myself checking up Wikipedia quite often just because I wanted to read up more about what I've just learned.

This 144-page hardcover looks at the art and culture from thirty different locations around the world through different periods in time, starting with the Australian caves in 35,000 BCE to the future developments in Rio De Janeiro in 2020.

The book's layout is pleasing and inviting, and pages are adorned by a mix of collage and hand drawn art from artist Lucy Dalzell.

On publisher Thames and Hudson's website, it says this book is for age group 9 and above. Actually, as long as you can read, I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy it.

This book is meant as an introduction to art history, so don't expect lengthy detailed writeup like those you would find in typical art history books. This is an more accessible and less intimidating option. And it's a very insightful and educational book.
