心のこもった美術雑誌

一日一匹の動物を紹介する『The Daily Zoo』はクリス・エアーズ(Chris Ayers)が描いたチャーミングな画集だ。

白血病と診断されてから一年後、この本を描き始めた。治療期間は長かったのですがおかげさまで回復した。前書きには、新しい人生を生きるようにできてこの本は、自分の生き返りを感謝するためのモノとして作ったと語った。

肖像画にしても手術着に履いている青ざめたフラミンゴのような奇妙な背景でいる事にしても戯画の動物はとても可愛くて面白い。各作品にエアーズさんが個人のひらめきと思いを付ける。

格月初には、闘病生活を話した。間違いなくこの画集は心のこもった他にはない贈り物だ。

この本は本当に創造的で、感動を与えて素敵なモノだ。
