I was watching the launch trailer of Journey and thinking to myself how beautiful the game was. The art direction is fantastic, especially the lighting.

What are the most beautiful video games you've played?

For me, it would either be Uncharted 2 or Uncharted 3. The details put into them are astonishing. I hope there's going to be an art book for Uncharted 3 just like 2 did.

The other game I really like is Red Dead Redemption. The landscape is gorgeous. I'll never forget the sunrise and sunset in Red Dead Redemption as the shadows are cast across the canyons, and the atmospheric diffusion of the sunlight bathing the landscape. The designers really nailed the look and feel of the everything. Journey has a rather similar feel but in a mystical world.
