My new favourite and lazy way of sketching is to sketch with non waterproof coloured inks ( in fountain pens or markers) and a waterbrush.
Markers like the Stabilo 88 f.e that are available in many different colours at all office supplies stores work great with the waterbrushes. I add details on top of the dried inks with coloured pencils.
It is very easy and convenient way to sketch, as I don't need a mixing palette. brushes, watercolours, boxes, water containers etc... just a pencil case and my sketchbook.
Another more lazy way to sketch is to make the background with a marker or some non waterproof ink and then sketch the lines on top of that.
