I confirm the above information. The Staedtler lead holders and the barel sharpener will last you literally forever. I have mine the last 34 years ( I bought it back in 1986) and though the brand has completely faded from the body of the lead holder and I have lost the metallic pocket catch, my lead holder works perfectly fine after all these yeas. As it doesn't have the metal grip in the front, ( older models were differently designed) it is quite lightweight too.
