I read this blog at least

I read this blog at least once a week. It is an utter gem of a site and I am so grateful for everything you do, Parka. You shine a spotlight on some amazing stuff.

Despite visiting regularly, I have only ever commented once, and that was on Kushvinov's last book. I have to say I am still a little disturbed by the fact that he paints women who look more like girls. The fact that some of them are wearing few clothes or seem to be in underwear is a little unsettling.

As I said last time, he is immensely talented and his style etc are excellent but he seems to paint some images which seem to echo Natalie Portman's 12 year-old character in Leon, a film which has often been discussed under the heading of sexualisation of children.

Again, maybe I am seeing things that aren't there and maybe I am singling this out when there are other artists in the manga vein who create similar images but I have never felt comfortable with Mr Kushvinov's art.
