Book Review: Andrea's Book

I've been following Andrea Joseph's sketchblog for a while now. When I saw that she was coming out with an artbook, I knew I had to grab it.

I bought mine from her Etsy shop. It was $24 USD + 10 USD for shipping. If they are out of stock, just email her to put more (signed) copies at Etsy.

This is a hardcover sketchbook that's a bit smaller than A5 size. There's a rubber band to hold the covers together, just like some sketchbooks. There are 144 pages.

I love her colour pencil and ballpoint pen art. Her artworks are so fine, and the way she builds the tones are so smooth. There's a particular drawing of folded clothes or fabric that's rendered so nicely I feel touching it to feel how soft they are.

Many of the artworks are from her blog. Her artworks sometimes comes with handwritten text in English, but they are translated into French in this artbook.

Gosh, I even love the handwriting. There's always something that feels personal about handwriting. And there's not just one type of handwriting but several. Lovely. Minor quibble is some of the words from the scanned pages are too small to read.

Beautiful book. Highly recommended.
