Review: Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin, Bamboo Forest, Light Green Ink

Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin, Bamboo Forest, Light Green Ink - 01

Pilot Iroshizuku Chiku-rin fountain pen ink is a light green ink inspired by the bamboo forest.

Chiku-rin is a yellow-green green, the colour that reminds me of fresh new leaves basking under the sunlight. If you're a watercolour user, you can think of this ink as Sap Green.

This ink has an average tonal value, with black being the extreme for comparison. This means that the ink is quite light, and the contrast will be extremely obvious when it's used with a darker ink.

For writing purposes, this ink performs well. There's an attractive sheen, a gradation of colour, to the strokes.

For drawing purposes, I think the green tone may just be a bit too light.
