Adolfo Serra is an illustrator from Spain known for his beautiful mixed media art created for children books. I'm a big fan of his mixed media art and I also happened to reviewed his previous course Illustration Techniques to Unlock Your Creativity which you should definitely check out as well.

Introduction to Children's Illustration is a 2hr 39min online course for beginners on children book illustration. The language is in Spanish but English subtitles are available.

This course talks about the creative process of creating art for children books. You'll learn how to generate ideas, understand what it takes to create art for kids, and experiment with different art styles through the hands-on tutorials. Adolfo is an experienced illustrator and provides lots of tips and useful insight.

The project for this course is to come up with an illustration for Cheshire Cat from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Adolfo goes through many iteration of changes to show you how it's possible to create different ideas and improve on each one, and not just depend on the first idea that comes to mind.

There's one thing that he said about not being able to draw or paint realistically is not a problem as long as your idea or concept is strong. He also has many tips on how you can create a portfolio that catches the eyes of children book publishers.

This course is inspiring, insightful and engaging, and a good chance to take a peak into a professional illustrator's mind.
