Drawing Powerful Heroes Vol 1 features comic drawing tips by Bart Sears, a professional artist who has worked for DC Comics, Marvel, Valiant and other publishers. He's known for his covers for Wizard Magazines, and the Brutes and Babes drawing tutorials there.

This first volume was made possible by crowdfunding from fans and was published by Ominous Press in 2017. At the time of this review, the second volume is on Kickstarter and the campaign ends 21 March 2019.

This 146-hardcover edition is very well produced. The cover is glossy and thick, binding is excellent.

The content is focuses on drawing superhero comic style characters. Tutorials that Bart has created has been updated and expanded with more drawing tips and techniques. There are lessons on drawing anatomy, muscles, postures, composition, perspective, storytelling, panelling and creating cover art. The content should benefit those with some basic knowledge of drawing characters. Many of the tips are on improving your character design, helping you understand why certain things have to be drawn in a certain way.
